Gainesville: Palestinian People’s Week (October 28-31)

Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Florida would like to officially invite you to our FIRST ever Palestinian People’s Week! We have an incredible line up of events for the last week of October that will better acquaint you with Palestinian culture, work to humanize the Palestinian struggle and offer UF students a way to learn more about the Palestinian/Israel conflict.

Monday, October 28th: Palestinian Awareness Fair in Plaza of the Americas. Stop by Plaza during the day on Monday to hear Palestinian music, grab some falafel sandwiches, and learn about culture, history, and the ongoing Palestinian struggle.

Tuesday, October 29th: Voices of the Diaspora in Matthew’s Suite (Reitz Union) at 7:00, doors open at 6:30. We’re excited to invite you to this event that will host Palestinians in the diaspora as we explore their different perspectives and experiences living in America.

Wednesday, October 30th: SJP presents: Remi Kanazi!! Make sure to come out to the Arredondo Cafe at 7:00 (doors open at 6:30) to see renowned Palestinian American spoken word artist Remi Kanazi perform. We’ll also have an open mic portion of the night as well as refreshments.

Thursday, October 31st: Tabling with ACA at the Arabic Fair in Plaza of the Americas. If you didn’t make it out on Monday be sure to stop by on Thursday as we table alongside our friends in Arabic Cultural Association. Music, dancing, food and awareness!
